ABSTRACT
The antifungal activity of the organotin compounds of the type of dibutyltin(IV)
dicarboxylates, (C4H9)2Sn(OOCR)2 (RCOO- = salicylic and acetylsalicylic), we have
synthesized previously, has been tested in our laboratory against Fusarium oxysporum strain.
The antifungal activity test was done by two different methods, i.e. the disk diffuison test and
the dilution test. The results showed that the minimum inhibition concentration (MIC) values
of the organotin dicarboxylates were found to be higher than the free carboxylic acid, the
starting material, (C4H9)2SnCl2, and the intermediate product, (C4H9)2SnO. The minimum
inhibition concentration (MIC) values of each of the compound measured are reported.
